Farmhouse Designs Vintage Duffels/Weekender-SUMATRA
This unique weekender bag is the first addition to a new design of vintage style bags fabricated from recycled coffee bean sacks.
Based upon my Isadora satchels, the bag measures 18" wide X 11" tall X 11" deep at the base of the bag. It comes in a variety of recycled, reclaimed fabrics, all hand-selected to compliment each other and the design of the bag.
The bag is secured via an overlapping tab and twistlock fastener, giving an additional measure of security to the existing internal flex frame closure. Inside there are eight pockets: four slip pockets per side, along with a matching wristlet that attaches to an antique brass clip. A detachable shoulder strap is provided so that the bag can be carried across the body or over the shoulder. The bottom is protected by four large antique brass feet.
A #8 canvas duck serves as foundation to give the bag structure and durability, allowing it to stand alone without collapsing, even when empty. There is ample room inside for all your necessities, with multiple pockets that are perfect for personal items. The unique element of this bag, however, is the frame closure which supports the opening, allowing easy access to the inside.
Two reclaimed coffee bean sacks went into the construction of this bag. The bands and straps are fabricated from a dark brown suede with the ends constructed out of heavy brown canvas. The interior is lined with an apricot canvas.
